1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Reality Check, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use our service.

2. Description of Service

Reality Check is a multiplayer game platform where users can upload photos, create AI-powered image edits, and challenge other players to find the modifications. The service includes user accounts, image uploading and editing, gameplay features, and leaderboards.

3. Account Registration

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
  • You must provide accurate and complete registration information
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • One account per person; multiple accounts are not permitted

4. User Content

Your Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for all content you upload, including photos and challenge descriptions. By uploading content, you represent that:

  • You own the content or have the right to use it
  • The content does not infringe any third-party rights
  • The content complies with all applicable laws

Prohibited Content

You may not upload content that:

  • Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or harassing
  • Contains nudity, sexually explicit material, or pornography
  • Depicts violence, gore, or disturbing imagery
  • Infringes intellectual property rights (copyrighted images without permission)
  • Contains personal information of others without consent
  • Promotes hate, discrimination, or illegal activities
  • Contains malware, viruses, or malicious code

License Grant

By uploading content, you grant Reality Check a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating the game service. This includes displaying your challenges to other players and creating AI-edited versions.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to exploit, cheat, or manipulate the game or scoring system
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service
  • Harass, bully, or intimidate other users
  • Create fake accounts or impersonate others
  • Use automated bots or scripts without permission
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code from the service

6. AI-Generated Content

Our service uses artificial intelligence to edit images. You acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated edits may not always match your expectations
  • AI processing is provided "as is" without guarantees of specific results
  • You remain responsible for the final content you publish as challenges
  • AI edits should not be used to create misleading content outside the game context

7. Intellectual Property

The Reality Check service, including its design, features, and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our service without permission.

You retain ownership of the original photos you upload. AI-edited versions created through our service may be used by you subject to these terms.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the service will immediately cease
  • We may delete your account and content
  • Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

We are not responsible for user-generated content or the actions of other users.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS, IF ANY.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Reality Check and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these terms.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting notice on the service or sending an email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes may be resolved through binding arbitration or in a court of competent jurisdiction.
